A Day in the Life

Today, I took a little trip down the road to the Salvation Army where the agency's Food, Fun, and Fitness program was in full session...

Our in-house nutritionist -- Marsha Fuller -- talked about a variety of over-the-counter diet medications and their potentially dangerous side effects at the request of the group.  Marsha is a Registered Dietitian and assists participants throughout the agency with their nutritional and dietary needs.  She identified several diet "fads" -- like hoodia, green tea pills, ephedra -- and broke down the scientific information into understandable terms.  The group also did a light workout to music by the Beatles and enjoyed a healthy cucumber salad afterwards.

Contact your service coordinator for more information about the agency's nutritional services or Food, Fun, Fitness.
